Windy Farm Mobile Slot Review
It is quite nice to see that slot producing companies still take on unorthodox themes to base their games around. For every new Irish or Asian themed slot, we have something wacky and unique like Windy Farm, a 5 reel 50 payline game in which the wind is a major influencer in what happens on the grid. Much like other Rival releases, this one shows off free spins and expanding Wilds, though it has a unique twist in this particular slot.
You can find a mixture of gambling icons and unique symbols present on the reels. 10, J, Q, K and A, a panicked horse, a happy goat, a friendly pig, a watering can, a cart full of vegetables, a mailbox and a horseshoe all appear on the grid to spice up the game. Most of these are done in 3D, and will spin around and do animations when you trigger a win with them.
Wilds work exactly as you would expect them. They can replace any symbol in the slot except Scatters, and they can only appear on the first, second, third and fourth reel. Like in other Rival games, they can expand to cover the reel, but a unique mechanic relating to the wind varies in which way it will expand. If the wind is blowing, Wilds will expand upward. If the weather is calm, Wilds will expand down the reel.
And while Wilds work in a unique fashion, Scatters did not have any special interest put into them. Still, the raging bull provides some cash benefit, and can be triggered from anywhere on the grid so long as there are three or more of him present. However, unlike in some other slots, you are locked to 7 free spins regardless of how many Scatters triggered the special feature.
How to play Windy Farm
If you enjoyed the graphics style in other Rival’s releases, you will enjoy this one as well. It reminded us a bit of Farmville’s artstyle, slightly touched up, but preserving the same appearance. Alongside the fact most of the models are in 3D and will move around when they are part of a winning combination.
From within the game, you can adjust coin value, active paylines and the amount of coins on each payline. This means you can vary your budget and play for $0.01 up to $75. And while the lowest possible choice will draw some low rollers, it really does not feel complete without all fifty paylines due to the large amount of icons in the slot, so the real minimum comes out to be $0.50.
Jackpots & Progressives
Windy Farm’s smaller amount of free spins means that most wins will have to be won during normal gameplay rather than chasing after the raging bull bonus rounds. However, this particular Rival release doesn’t have issue with that, as Wilds come out often enough to keep things interesting.
And while it is not a progressive slot, between the changing Winds and expanding Wilds, small wins are plentiful across the board. Just enough to keep you invested until you score that large win. In fact, the largest single win you can get is 1500x your total wager with five horseshoes in a row.

Three or more Scatters activate the free spins special feature. Regardless of the amount of Scatters that triggered the bonus, the game will always award you 7 free spins, which is somewhat disappointing.
Indeed, most of the attention in Windy Farm seems to have gone to the somewhat novel idea of changing around Wilds and tying it to the wind mechanic. Scatters are generally not satisfying currently, but the slot does not suffer for it.
