The world seems to be caught up in a super hero fever right now. Honestly, if you had told us a few years ago Marvel would be this successful, we’re not sure if we’d believe you. The Flash is a superhero-themed slot, played on a 5×3 board with 50 fixed paylines. To win, collect three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions, starting from the leftmost reel. All wins must follow one of the currently active paylines or else the cash prize won’t be awarded to the player.
You won’t find much visual charm in this game. Instead, it’s real strengths lies in the numerous special features it offers! The Playtech release offers several of them. Random Wilds to increase your odds of winning, a Battle bonus and four progressive jackpots eagerly waiting for you to win them. The latter of which make this from great to must-play in our eyes!
How to play The Flash
Now, that doesn’t mean that we’ve forgotten about the dull graphics. The idea behind the background image is undeniably cool! You’re supposedly speeding so past, everything is a blur of grey. But when put into practice, it leaves us wanting more. A few small, repeating details could have made this a lot better!
And while Playtech was never that great when it comes to icons, these iterations feel extra lazy. Half of the symbols are playing card royals: 9, 10, J, Q, K and A. The rest are other superheroes, while special icons include Flash and Reverse Flash symbols and clashes.
The Flash has high volatility, relying on its progressive jackpots to woo gamblers. That’s not to say that its special features aren’t engaging, they are! But let’s be honest, nobody will just be satisfied with this game’s fixed jackpot. It’s progressive or nothing!
Jackpots & Progressives
If you want to win the aforementioned progressive jackpot, there’s no secret trick to it. You have to get lucky! Once triggered, it will reveal a large board with 20 positions, all of which face down. As you reveal them, they will show green, blue, yellow or red colours, corresponding to one of the progressive jackpots.
Each coloured cell fills up that colour’s meter. The first colour to be filled in is the progressive jackpot that will be granted to players. The easier a jackpot is to win, the less money it awards: making the top prize very elusive. But that’s the thrill of progressive jackpots, no?

Wilds can only appear on the reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. They can also appear randomly through a special feature, increasing your odds of winning.
Collect five Flash or Reverse Flash Scatters to trigger the Battle free spins rounds. Pick either Flash or the Reverse Flash and the game begins!
