Most of the time, established software providers deliver quality slots. They’ve been in the business for a while, so they know what works. Spinsane is a release themed after physical machines and wolves. It is played on a 5×3 board with 27 fixed paylines. To win, collect three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. All wins must follow one of the currently active paylines, which must follow one of the currently active paylines.
In terms of special features, there’s not that much to look forward to. Super icon can fill in the parts of their less valuable cousins, which is nice to have. There are also regular Wilds, and a free spins round. The only thing novel about the extra turns is how you trigger them! The number of free spins is always twice the number of triggering Scatters.
How to Play Spinsane
Compared to most other NetEnt slots we’ve tried, the graphics here are incredibly lacking. First off, there’s no real background image to speak of. Instead, it’s made to look like a physical machine. If you like that sort of thing, great! But for the rest of us, it cannot compare to a proper picture artists put a lot of effort in.
But what really irked us were the symbols. You have three ‘regular’ icons: the wolf, a wolf’s paw and a trinket fashioned out of a wolf’s tooth. Super symbols re-use that already limited selection of icons! The only one that’s slightly different is the wolf. The other two are identical to their counterparts, with just scratch marks on top of them.
The game is bold enough to offer a medium-high variance. We have to admire the effort, but the gameplay simply isn’t good enough to support it. Is there a chance at some good wins? Absolutely, the prizes you can win are fantastic if you’re lucky enough. But will it be enjoyable? Maybe for you! But we didn’t enjoy ourselves one bit.
