Shoot! Mobile Slot Review
If this slot looks familiar in some way, it should not be surprising. Originally released in 2012, Microgaming re-released Shoot! in June 2016 just in time for the UEFA 2016 European Championship. Available on Android and iOS devices, the game relives what many consider the golden era of football during the 70’s and 80’s.
Shoot! takes its name from Shoot! magazine, which was one of the best football publications of its time. The football theme is spread throughout the game. Meat pies, soccer balls, and trading cards of legendary football players await you on the reels, ready to bring home large wins for you just like they brought cheering and victory to their home countries back in the day.
The slot has 50 fixed paylines set across five reels, and the look of it all is just amazing. An upbeat music plays in the background as occasional cheering comes in, making you feel like you are at an actual football match as you watch the reels spin.
How to play Shoot!
Shoot! does not stray from the practiced Microgaming formula in terms of the user interface. You can set your wager using the radial menu on the left, but the coin value itself is hidden away in the settings menu, which can be annoying. The coin value starts off at the smallest possible setting, so if you want to make larger wagers, you will want to bump it up slightly.
While in the settings menu, take the time to turn on Quick Spin if you don’t feel like waiting too long. You can also choose whether or not to see your balance, or if the balance will be displayed in coins or credits. Finally, you can also turn off the sound in the game, if you are out in public or just don’t want to listen to the music.
Meat pies and footballs form the lower paying symbols, while the portraits of many big names in the game form the higher paying icons. It makes sense to see the likes of Pele and Maradona bring in the big bucks, as we have seen them do just that in real life.
And if all this is not enough to excite you, Shoot! also has some very interesting bonuses that will make you relive your days as a child trading football cards to fill up your album, only this time around the cards bring their own bonuses!
Jackpots and Progressives
This is not a progressive slot, but Microgaming has left enough to leave high rollers wanting. Scatters can trigger the game’s many bonuses, and bring in x200 what you wagered on top of it if you can score five of them.
Theoretically, Shoot! caps you out at $619,000, but odds are you will not make it to that number. This slot is more like a regular football game – the exciting moments come in here and there, so if you do not enjoy the core of it all, you will not find much enjoyment here.
Bonus Game and Sign-ups
Get three or more Scatters, and the Trade ‘em bonus activates. You are taken to a separate screen, and you choose four of the twelve trading cards with football players on them. Here, you can win cash prizes, or unlock Free Spins or Magazine special features.
Free Spins will give you between 10 to 35 bonus rounds. While it is active, all wins are doubled, and you are unable to change your wager once it begins.
