This time around, our handsome protagonist has swapped the thick jungle canopies for sprawling, sandy dunes. But how does it stack up compared to Microgaming’s previous masterpiece?
Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx is an Egyptian-themed slot. It is played on a 5×4 board with 35 paylines, which can expand into a 5×5 playing field with 50 paylines. To win, players must collect three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. The win must follow one of the currently active paylines.
Available bonuses include the Rolling Reels mechanic, the Win Booster buy-in special feature, a multiplier trail, re-spins and free spins. All of these mechanics interact with each other on some level, making it incredibly fun to play this game.

We’re not massive fans of this new design.This time around, Jim isn’t standing by the reels and encouraging your progress. This leaves Microgaming’s release looking rather bland. Just a random decorated stone arch in the middle of a desert isn’t that interesting to look at.
Icon designs don’t fare that much better. We were hoping for more Egyptian-themed symbols. Sure, some are available, but there’s also a sizeable chunk of gemstones. Better than playing card royals, but still feel a little out of place with this theme. Jim is the biggest disappointment here. He looks like some kind of cheap knock-off version instead of the real deal.
