Where to Play Hercules Son of Zeus
Hercules Son of Zeus Mobile Slot Review
A slot based around the mythical Hercules whose story was told over and over from ancient books to a classic Disney movie? We were all aboard that particular ship when Pragmatic Play first showed it off. Unfortunately, it hasn’t quite lived up to the hype we were expecting out of it. While by no means a bad game, with 5 reels and 50 paylines, it lacks any sense of real spirit to the whole experience. The special features seem like they are there just to tick off a check list, the wins aren’t that spectacular and even the visuals just aren’t able to sell us to the whole thing.
And with the theme, we start. It has a good idea, and despite being used a lot, people are quite fond of Hercules. It just turns out to be a shame when the execution of the idea doesn’t manage to live up to what you wanted. The inclusion of poker icons doesn’t help, and what animation we did see felt lazy, like not a lot of effort was put into them. When the main character on the playing field looks like he’s not even trying to roar when animated to do so, you know something’s not right.
Scatters take on the shape of a coin with the imprint of Zeus on it – hence the subtitle Son of Zeus. They can only appear on the second, third and fourth reel, and award 6 free spins. While the extra rounds are active, all wins come with a 2x multiplier. For the duration of the special feature, a single Wild is guaranteed to appear on the second, third and fourth reel. You can extend how long the bonus lasts by scoring more Scatters.
What about Wilds, then? Wilds are represented by a temple and can be used to fill in for other symbols to complete a win, unless that icon is a Scatter. Again, nothing ground-breaking, just ticking off a box on the checklist. There’s no cash bonus attached to it, either.
How to Play Hercules Son of Zeus
The basic feeling of playing the slot is okay, but the amount you can carry home feels limited. Some coin munching games will shower you with smaller wins in hopes of distracting you from the fact you are bleeding more money than you are putting in. Hercules doesn’t even do this much, but it does helpfully use the coins to obfuscate how much you won.
The betting range is decent. With the fixed 50 paylines, the minimum you can go is $0.50 per spin, while the maximum will set you back $250 each turn. It is quite a good spread, but I can imagine some low rollers might find $0.50 per spin a bit too much for their liking. But again, with 50 paylines, it doesn’t feel like the slot was designed for them.
Jackpots & Progressives
The game has no progressive jackpots, instead you will have to rely on regular wins and what you can carry home from activating special features. The largest single win will be $200,000 for five of a kind Hercules icon, and that is playing at the largest bet level, which is $250 per spin. Not bad, but certainly not particularly amazing either.
As for the bonuses you can score, or rather, one special feature, it is honestly a mixed bag. From our own experience, the free spins will sometimes get stuck at six, but they have been known to go up as much as fifteen one time. The extra Wilds certainly help to increase the wins, but you can still have blank spins where you get nothing. All in all, it depends on your luck, there is no guarantee.
Bonus Games & Sign-ups
To activate the free spins Scatters need to appear on the second, third and fourth reel at the same time to activate it. You are rewarded with 6 bonus turns, which you can reactivate if more Scatters appear for the duration of the special feature.
While it is active, all wins reward 2x what they normally do. On top of this, special reels come into play, which means that the bonus guarantees the presence of three Wilds on the second, third and fourth reel, which can increase your odds of winning.
