Dragon Champions is a fantasy-themed video slot which offers players a 6×4 playing field with 4,096 ways to win forgoing traditional paylines. This means gamblers cannot choose to turn some or all paylines to turn off in order to lower their minimum bet. Payouts are awarded for collecting three or more identical symbols on adjacent positions, starting from the leftmost reel. Bonuses include spreading symbols and a free spins special feature.
How to play Dragon Champions
Like several other Playtech games we have reviewed recently, it looks mildly outdated. The symbols are clean and crisp but lack any interesting animations. Most will simply zoom in and out when part of the winning combination, but even bigger icons, like the dragon, have awkward looking movement. The background image shows a large building full of golden coins and various valuables, jealously hoarded by the dragon. In the end, we had to dock points because of this, and we felt really bad about it. We enjoyed the gameplay of Dragon Champions, but the graphics failed to impress us.
Symbols include playing card icons – 9, 10, J, Q, K and A, a wizard, an archer, a female knight, a male swordsman, and the fierce, scary looking red dragon. The title’s logo is used as Wild and can substitute for all icons except for Scatters. Meanwhile, a pair of crossed swords and a shield represent e the Scatter symbol and can trigger free spins from any position.
The slot has high volatility, meaning players will see a fair amount of dead spins or very minor wins before reaching hitting a massive jackpot to make the time and money invested worth it. The challenge is making sure you budget accordingly and have enough cash left to snag that prize!

There are no progressive jackpots in Dragon Champions. The largest win we were able to get was over 1,000x our total bet, and you can climb even higher than that under the right circumstances. The RTP for this Playtech release is 95.12%, which is below average compared to other games.

When a blue fire appears behind a symbol that means it was randomly selected for the Dragonfire special feature. When the icon lands, it spreads to all adjacent horizontal and vertical reel positions, unless Wild or Scatter are sitting there already. The symbols will only spread if it will create or improve a win.
Collecting three or more Scatters in any position rewards free spins. Three, four, five or six Scatters awards 8, 15, 25 or 100 free turns, respectively. You can retrigger free spins by collecting two or more Scatters while the special feature is still being played. All Dragonfire symbols transform into the Dragon during the bonus.
