Bombs is a pirate-themed game which offers playing a 5×7 board with 20 fixed paylines. To win, players have to collect three or more identical symbols in adjacent positions, starting with the leftmost reel. All wins must follow one of 20 active paylines or the cash prize won’t be awarded.
As the name implies, the Playtech release is all about the various bombs on offer! Their explosions can create multipliers, Wilds, cash prizes and mystery icons! How to play Bombs
The graphics seem deceptively simple, at first glance. We certainly didn’t think we’d be particularly impressed when we first booted it. But the number of fluid animations truly won us over! The sea gently shifts back and forth, and the boats above move in sync with it. Every so often, they’ll fire their cannons at each other. And each bonus is accompanied by an animation that triggers it. These small details quickly add up!
Our high praise for the visuals becomes muddled when we get to the symbols. The pirate themed ones are quite cool, as are the various bombs. But we had hoped to see playing card suites given a more pirate appearance, too. No such luck, sadly! All the hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs are just as colourful and distracting as they always are.
The slot has medium to high volatility and utilizes its explosive special features to their full potential! There’s something inherently satisfying watching bonuses get activated through massive explosions! The developers realized this as well, making them a semi-frequent occurrence.
